SHALOM!

Am Kolel, Greater Washingtons' Jewish Renewal Resource welcomes you to Country Cheder (pronounce Hay-der).  A new Jewish Sunday school catering to Jewish families in upper Montgomery County.
Cheder
, which refers to a Jewish classroom, will focus on the fundamental lessons of Jewish life by exploring rituals, holidays, and the Hebrew language in a meaningful, hands-on way.

Through the weekly lessons, your family will gain an appreciation for the rich heritage that Judaism has to offer through the use of stories, art projects, and nature crafts, as well as gaining new rituals to explore as a family.  Imagine creating a hand made Kiddish cup, or gaining a  deeper understanding of Moses job as a goat herder by going to visit a local Shepard. Or having new Hebrew songs to sing as a family.

Our program is sponsored by Am Kolel and is located at Am Kolel’s Sanctuary Renewal and Retreat center.  We are located on the beautiful grounds of Sanctuary on Darnestown Road in Beallsville, MD.  This land is home to a lush garden, beautiful woods, a labyrinth, lots of fun nooks and crannies, and an amazing place to watch the sunset.
